How to Find Your Perfect T-Shirt Size Without Trying It On

How to Find Your Perfect T-Shirt Size Without Trying It On

Buying a t-shirt online shouldn’t feel like a gamble. But for most people, it does.

You order a medium. It arrives. It fits like a tent. Or a tourniquet. There is no in-between.

Here’s how to never guess again.

Step 1: Measure Your Best-Fitting Shirt

Go to your closet. Find the t-shirt that fits you best — the one you reach for first. Lay it flat on a table. Grab a measuring tape.

Measure three things:

  • Chest width: Armpit to armpit, across the front. Double this number. This is your chest circumference.
  • Length: From the highest point of the shoulder seam to the bottom hem.
  • Shoulder width: Seam to seam across the back.

Write these numbers down. They are your golden measurements.

Step 2: Read the Size Chart (Not the Label)

A “medium” at one brand is a “large” at another. A “large” at one brand is a “small” at another. The label is a lie. The size chart is the truth.

Every reputable brand publishes a size chart. If they don’t, that’s a red flag. At AREEZZ, we publish ours on every product page because we’d rather you get it right the first time.

Match your golden measurements to the chart. If you’re between sizes, ask yourself one question:

Do I want a fitted look or a relaxed look?

Fitted: size down. Relaxed: size up. There’s no wrong answer — just intentional ones.

Step 3: Understand Fabric Weight

Here’s what nobody tells you: the same size in the same brand can fit differently depending on the fabric weight.

A 180gsm cotton tee will drape closer to the body. A 240gsm cotton tee will hold its shape and feel boxier. Heavier fabric doesn’t mean smaller — it means more structured.

At AREEZZ, our tees sit in the 200-220gsm range. Heavy enough to feel premium. Light enough to breathe in summer. This is the sweet spot.

Step 4: Check the Fit Description

Brands use vague terms. “Regular fit” means nothing. “Relaxed fit” means something different to every brand. Look for specifics:

  • “True to size” = Order your usual size.
  • “Oversized fit” = The garment is cut larger than standard. Order your usual size for the intended look, or size down for a fitted look.
  • “Cropped fit” = Shorter in the body. If you have a longer torso, consider sizing up.

Step 5: When in Doubt, Order Two

If you’re genuinely stuck between two sizes, order both. Try them on. Send one back. Most brands offer free returns. The ones that don’t aren’t worth your money.

This costs more upfront. But the alternative — a shirt that sits unworn in your drawer because it doesn’t fit — costs more in the long run.

The AREEZZ Approach

We make unisex tees in a consistent fit across all our designs. Once you know your AREEZZ size, every drop works. No surprises.

Our tees run true to size with a slightly relaxed cut. If you’re usually a medium, you’re a medium. If you want the oversized streetwear look, size up one.

Simple. Intentional. No gambling.
