What Does Printed to Order Mean?

What Does Printed to Order Mean?

You order a tee on Tuesday morning. The garment you just ordered does not exist yet — and that is the point. “Printed to order” means production starts after you buy, not months before on speculation. Here is exactly what that means at Areezz: the timeline with real numbers, why there are no restocks, what it changes for the piece you receive, and the honest trade-offs.

The Definition

Printed to order (also made to order, or print-on-demand) means a garment is produced only when a customer has already committed to it. There is no warehouse of sizes waiting, no bulk run of a few thousand units, no restock queue. When a design drops, it is printed in your size when you order it — never pulled from a warehouse or a sale rack. That “never” is not marketing: it is the whole production model.

The Timeline, With Numbers

Every Areezz order moves through three stages:

  • Production — estimated 2–5 business days. Your piece is printed and the ink is fully cured before anything ships.
  • Delivery — tracked, estimated 3–8 business days within the EU. We ship to 30 European countries, and European orders over €50 ship free.
  • Checkout shows your numbers. Rates, methods and exact timing for your destination are calculated at checkout — these are estimates, not guarantees.

Why There Are No Restocks

Overproduction is the apparel industry’s quiet habit: print thousands of units, sell half, liquidate or landfill the rest. Made to order flips the equation — a piece is produced only when someone has actually paid for it. The consequence is blunt and intentional: when a design sells out, it is gone. No “restock coming soon” banners, no false countdowns, no waste quietly written off. Areezz was founded in 2024 around original in-house graphics; printing to order is what lets an independent label produce bold designs without betting on overstock.

What It Means for the Print You Get

Because each piece is produced fresh, the print is applied when your order exists. Core graphics are printed DTF at high resolution, and the summer line is DTG — cured so the ink is fully bonded before the garment ships, so the fabric arrives with the print in its best possible state. How much fabric sits under that print is a weight question, and we put the numbers in our GSM guide.

The Honest Trade-offs

Made to order is not the fast-fashion timeline. You wait for production before shipping starts. A sold-out drop stays sold out. And change-of-mind returns are not automatically accepted — our returns policy covers defects, misprints and errata for 30 days, and support@areezz.com answers if something is wrong. What you get for those trade-offs is a garment made for a real order instead of a guess, from a production model that has no overstock to burn. The practical details — shipping countries, VAT, sizing, payments — are in our FAQ.
